Usually I post these Uppity Updates when, as the saved folk say, “there’s about to be a shift atmosphere.”
The shift is that I’m about to end my internship.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
This has been a long summer, I recently got off the phone with Mama Uppity and I realised that once I return back to my own reality and leave this bubble of summer life that, perhaps, this internship will prove to be one of those experiences that it’s benefits will only come to fruition in the years to come. Those older than me can attest to that.
That being said, I’m taking a blogging break because there is a lot of year-end duties (evaluations, closing out of the books, marathon final meetings, packing, driving) that I will be doing at least until August 13th where I don’t need to fully devote my energy to writing on this blog. However, once I get back home in Chicago, I will definitely be blogging, hopefully I’ll be able to go everyday for the period until school starts seeing as how I won’t have the daily pressures of work for that period of time.
But don’t be fooled, I have some blogs up my sleeve, particularly the one that stemmed from the comment that I was “high maintenance” (ergo, I have a problem with folk putting their bare feet up on desks and tables–seriously, is that just a white thing or have I missed the boat?) which is prompting a nice cross-cultural title “Are Blacks ‘High Maintenance’?” And don’t think that I’m going to be able to pass on the fact that we’ve entered silly season here with the political campaign and that Obama may need to hire Emeril Laggassie and BAM! kick his campaign up a notch.
But check me out as I will continue to comment on the other blogs on my blogroll on the right of the screen. Make sure to show them some love, the uppity way.
Keep it uppity and keep it truthfully radical, JLL
Awww c’mon, I just discovered your site. LOL. Who the hell am I gonna argue with now?! What I’m gone do now? LOL. The commentary will be missed. Keep it uppity
I commented on your July 29, “Why we only speak to men we meet indoors” post, and I well received the feedback. I remembered your blog and came back to visit yesterday and today. You should assigned your guest bloggers when you’re out or post some “Open Thread” posts. You can assign them to post on future dates, or post stories to post on future dates. This keeps your blog relevant. You’re in school and I know you’re learning not to shut your business down just because you won’t be there to run it. Ready for a laugh? Here it goes – Yo shawty come back, I need to holla at ya….LOL…Enjoy your time off. Peace.
