(inside joke)….anywho, i agree with your statement of the black church not being dead, but being irrelevant. part of the problem i see is that we are so insular. as if we possess all the keys to the kingdom and NO ONE else can have an intelligent thought about religion, spirituality, etc. it really is a sad state of affairs from where i am sitting. and the realist in me isn’t seeing much change on the horizon.

Just look at Joel Osteens church. At Lakewood, you see just as many blacks and Hispanics in the congregation as whites. At many Assembly of God churches today, blacks make up a huge percentage of the congregation, especially in cities and college towns. There is more an emphasis on unity in Christ than race or culture in general, especially amongst evangelicals.
